It's Only KINDA Real, So it's Okay

Everybody has to be a little wicked sometimes, and I like to let my wicked out when I watch reality TV. I judge, where normally I wouldn't judge. I enjoy the indiscretions of others, when normally I. Would. NEVER. ;) I figure it's all in the contract between me and the people who signed up to have their lives on display. So... let's be wicked and have a little fun. American Idol My favorite Idol contestant, and this is not going to be a popular opinion, is STEFANO! I think his good looks are working against him. Admit it, you would all vote for him if he looked like this: Or dressed like this: I’m here to stand up for the beautiful people. The ones who you look at and think, “I’m not the least bit surprised to hear a gorgeous voice coming out of that gorgeous person, therefore I’m not voting for them.” Hey listen! Attractive people need votes too, just as much as those who have untamable facial hair or dress unfortunately. Rock the HOT vote! My least favorite Idol is: …and it’s weird, because I usually like anybody that will stick to their own standards, but gospel music is just too…. bouncy for me. Plus when he moves he reminds me of a duck, preening and thinking from time to time about taking flight. Take a look and try to dispute that.
Dancing with the Stars.

Can we please talk about Ralph Machio… aka, Daniel Son. I will forever love him… even though he still looks so much like Daniel Son that the signal from my brain to my eyes gets mixed up and for a moment I almost confuse it with my innate pedophile warning. Over the weeks though, I’ve come to realize that there is no real pedophile danger. My mind is just having a hard time computing what the eyes are seeing. The ears struggle too. I hear him dedicate dances to his wife and I’m like, “Wait a second, where’s ‘Alli with an i’? Shouldn’t you two be giving the old family car a good push and then jumping in just in time for your mom to drive you both to the arcade?”

I also want Ralph to have more attitude than he does. I mean, Daniel Son was BAD. He had GRIT! I must admit I got a little thrill when Ralph swore last week on the show and they had to bleep him. He and Jacob Lusk both need a little less: And a little more:
But my FAVORITE couple from Dancing with the Stars is Maks and Kirstie! What girl in this world is still trying to resist Maks after his leg buckled two weeks ago and he got back up and winced his way through pain to deliver for his partner. Survivor Boston Rob is both my favorite and my least favorite. He’s genius, but his thirst for power might bring him down. I mean, let your team eat a little fish, wouldja??? Plus, I love Matt. Poor, sweet, naïve, notalickasense Matt. My main hope for every reality show is for someone to find reality show love. After recent events, my hopes for these two are shattered …unless she gets sent to Redemption Island and there’s a terrible rainstorm in which their shelter blows away and they must escape into each other’s arms for protection from the raging storm and use each other’s bodies for heat in the bitter cold…. but that probably won’t happen… and hasn’t happened… in my imagination… or anything… So... what do ya think? Am I right???

We really don't watch any of the reality TV shows (no cable, satellite etc, etc) just netflix.....but thanks for sharing your vivid description of not one, not two, but three shows! Now we know what we are missing or not....

You're awesome!

Amie, it's scary how much you and I think alike...I totally could not agree more. I love that you are watching the same shows that I am with the exception of The Biggest Loser...which I am totally addicted to.

I DO watch Biggest Loser! I could definitely talk about "B Lose" as we call it at our house. :) I'm not quite caught up on it though. I haven't seen last week's episodes.

What? You don't watch any of my shows! No Amazing Race? No Sister Wives? Celebrity Apprentice? Teen Mom 2? (okay, the season IS over) Oh well, it's good to know I'm not the only one who gets all "judgy" when I normally wouldn't!

P.S. Daniel-san looks younger than I do. And I think he's my mom's age.

I TOTALLY watch Amazing Race and Celebrity Apprentice! But Sister Wives???? Heebiejeebies galore! How can you stand that one??? :) Everybody needs to watch SHARK TANK too! That one robs you of your faith in humanity and then restores it all in one hour! Haha!

Christy, we watch Apprentice too. Oh, and Amazing Race. It sounds odd admitting it out loud, but we apparently watch alot of reality tv. It's our bonding time. - Amie, the picture of the fake beard is hilarious!

Now here are my thoughts... I know you are really excited..

Amazing Race.. Love that the last team FINALLY got kicked OFF I hated them with a passion.. Want the Cowboys all the way..

American Idol.. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE (is that clear enough) Jacob so we are the same there.. I love Stefano so I was glad to hear you do to..

Survivor.. I live for Boston Rob, he is the best part of the show. I prayed at the beginning of the season that he would at least be there longer then Dirt Bag Russell and my prayers were answered.. I want him to go all the way and I love that no one ate the fish because he said so. Love that man!!!

Dancing.. It's funny because each year I care less and less about the actual 'Star' and focus on which 'Pro' I like the most.. I HATE with passion Louis van Amstel (can he fall and break a leg, YET) so I am hoping Play Bunny Kendra goes since she is with that sleaze ball. I can't stand to watch Cheryl Burke so see ya Chris Jericho!

Celebrity Appretice.. 3 words only.. Busey is crazy!!

Biggest Loser.. Makes me want to run more..

And the best is soon back on... Project Runway!!

I swear we are sisters when it come to so much Reality tv... What would I do withOUT a DVR??

Jana- you just made up for months of not leaveing me comments in one fail swoop! lol!

That week that Rob sent Matt back to solitude was tough though! You have to admit that was a sad week. Rob can be heartless! WHY oh WHY did I not see the season where he fell in love with Amber. I would have been in reality HEAVEN!

Busey is really crazy. I can't believe he's still around!

I can't believe anything motivates you to run, expect possibly being chased. :) Lately I've been watching B Lose while eating chips and dip. I hate those slumps. Gotta get motivated again!

I don't watch any of those shows, yet was thoroughly entertained by this post!

I love Daniel Son!!!

I was SURE we would get married someday...

So I can't comment on the last two since I haven't watched them, but I had to laugh at the American Idol commentary. I am so seeing the duck! He's my least favorite two. And honestly, the girls are there with him. I think the only girl who was AI material got kicked off -- Pia. :(

Yeah, I know, Sister Wives is creepy...in a wholesome sort of way, if it's possible to be wholesome when you're "married" to 4 women and have children with all of them and they all claim to be okay with it. Ick. So it's sort of like a wholesomely-creepy train wreck that I can't turn away from.

Bruce and I bond over reality TV, too, after the kids are finally in bed. I started watching Teen Mom 2 (yet another train wreck) and Bruce pretended he wasn't interested in it, and was just watching it to spend time with me.
